The 2015 season is over for the Dolphins, and the familiar sensation of watching the playoffs, and remembering the 70s is back. Being the first team to be knocked out of the AFC East race, with a record of 6-10 for the season, was a bad experience for the Dolphins. They will have put that behind them though, and, with Adam Gase at the helm and a new look coaching staff, the Dolphins are all about change this time around. A fresh mind behind the headset may well be what the Dolphins need to try and regain their glory days. So let’s take a look at this year’s games, and what they Dolphins can expect out of it.
Nice & Easy
Cleveland Browns The Browns are the whipping boys of the NFL, and until they can secure some semblance of control in the field of play, they are going to stay that way. Most teams will rub their hands with glee when the Browns come up on their radar. With one of the worst performance records on board last season, most people have a pretty good reason to doubt their capabilities. Provided that the Dolphins don’t come out too cocky, they should wrap this game up nice and tight. Hard hitting New York Jets With a poor record against the Jets, both home and away, and especially after losing both games last season, the Dolphins will be wary of heading off to the Meadowlands. With the Jets losing out to the Steelers on a playoff spot this season, you can guarantee that they are going to be coming hard for the playoffs this coming season. With the Dolphins in their way, Miami had better batten down the hatches if they want to be able to see the Jets off this time round.
Prime Time Potential
Seattle Seahawks Seattle are on their third playoff run, and they are gaining some major fanbase as they go. With the Dolphins travelling to Seattle this season, this would be a great opportunity to stage an upset on a big name, and remind people just how relevant the Fins are. Seattle are a really physical team, with some solid players, so the Dolphins will want to be coming into this game with a full roster, and a positive attitude if they don’t want to lose their shirts. This season is looking pretty patchy for the Dolphins, with some easy games against the Titans and Browns. The Chargers and the Ravens filling out the mid card leaves them with some heavy hitting teams to face. The Dolphins of this season won’t stand a chance against this field of opponents, so they are going to need to find something in the offseason, or face another disappointing run against a healthy roster of opposition.
