The Cardinals have been the class of the NFC this season, and could well be the defending champions come the start of next season. As one of the league’s most talented teams, Arizona faces a daunting schedule next season. Here are their full fixtures:
Easiest game: @ Atlanta
The Falcons lack talent on defense and have the weakest pass rush in the league, making them easy pickings for Carson Palmer and Arizona’s loaded offense. Atlanta’s offense, by comparison, boils down mainly to Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman. The Cardinals have more than enough talent on defense to counter all three. Patrick Peterson versus Julio Jones would certainly be a fascinating match-up.
Hardest game: @ Carolina
The league’s best team versus the team with the best record presents a mouth-watering fixture. It could well be a rematch of the upcoming NFC championship game, and the loser would be keen to avenge that defeat. Carolina’s passing game (with Kelvin Benjamin back) against Arizona’s secondary, and vice versa, would make this game an instant classic.
Most likely primetime game: vs Seattle
The Seahawks and Cardinals have played each other in the season finale a fair few times recently. This game would almost certainly earn a primetime slot if both teams were closely battling for the NFC West title. Arizona and Seattle share a bitter rivalry, and gave us a classic game in Seattle this season. But Week 17’s whitewash by the Seahawks in Arizona was a bit of a shock, meaning that this match-up always delivers huge surprises on the biggest stages.
