NFL Playoff Picture: Bills loss sees them lose their Wild Card spot

After a wild Week 11 Sunday in the NFL, there were some changes in playoff seeding, but the same 12 teams that were in playoff position after Week 10 remained. Now, following the Buffalo loss to the Patriots on Monday Night Football, that’s now longer the case, as the Bills drop from 6th to 8th in AFC playoff seeding. Which team is now in possession of the second AFC Wild Card spot? Check out below!  

AFC

#1 – New England Patriots (1.000) AFC East Champions #2 – Cincinnati Bengals (.800) AFC North Champions #3 – Denver Broncos (.800) AFC West Champions The Bengals have a better record within the conference than the Broncos (.875 vs .667) #4 – Indianapolis Colts (.500) AFC South Champions The Colts own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Texans, who are also .500 in the AFC South #5 – Pittsburgh Steelers (.600) AFC Wild Card #1 #6 – Kansas City Chiefs (.500) AFC Wild Card #2 #7 – Houston Texans (.500) #8 – Buffalo Bills (.500) #9 – New York Jets (.500) Because we have two teams in the same division, we need to eliminate one first. The Bills own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Jets, so the Jets drop to the bottom of the teams with a .500 record. The Chiefs have a better record within the conference (.667) than the Texans (.571) or the Bills (.556). The Texans own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Jets. #10 – Oakland Raiders (.400) #11 – Jacksonville Jaguars (.400) #12 – Miami Dolphins (.400) The Raiders have a better record within the conference (.571) than the Jaguars (.500) or the Dolphins (.286). The Jaguars own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Dolphins. #13 – Baltimore Ravens (.300) #14 – Cleveland Browns (.200) #15 – San Diego Chargers (.200) #16 – Tennessee Titans (.200) The Browns have a better record within the conference (.250) than the Chargers (.167) or the Titans (.000). The Chargers have a better record within the conference than the Titans. The Titans are only three wins behind the Colts in the AFC South.

#1 – Carolina Panthers (1.000) NFC South Champions #2 – Arizona Cardinals (.800) NFC West Champions #3 – Green Bay Packers (.700) NFC North Champions The Packers own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Vikings, who are also .700 in the NFC North) #4 – New York Giants (.500) NFC East Champions #5 – Minnesota Vikings (.700) NFC Wild Card #1 #6 – Atlanta Falcons (.600) NFC Wild Card #2 #7 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (.500) #8 – Seattle Seahawks (.500) The Bucs have a better record within the conference that the Seahawks (.571 vs .556) #9 – Washignton Redskins (.400) #10 – St. Louis Rams (.400) #11 – New Orleans Saints (.400) #12 – Chicago Bears (.400) #13 – Philadelphia Eagles (.400) Because we have two teams from the same division, we need to eliminate one first. The Redskins own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Eagles, so Philadelphia drops to the bottom of the teams with a .400 record. The Redskins have a better record within the conference (.571) than the Rams (.429), the  Saints (.375), or the Bears (.167). The Rams have a better record within the conference than the Saints or the Bears. The Saints have a better record within the conference than the Bears. #14 – Detroit Lions (.300) #15 – San Francisco 49ers (.300) #16 – Dallas Cowboys (.300) The Lions have a better record within the conference (.333) than the 49ers (.250) or the Cowboys (.250). The 49ers have a better Strength of Victory than the Cowboys (.533 vs .433). The Cowboys are only two wins behind the Giants in the NFC East.
