The Empire and the Rebel Alliance continue their back and forth, as the galactic conflict spreads further into the outer systems. With the main battles in the central systems complete, for now, and the latest draft of mercenaries completed, we’re taking a look at the news coming in from the furthest reaches of the outer systems, and making sure that you stand up and take notice. In a first for the Mercenary draft, a Mandalorian has stepped into the fray as a prospect. Usually happy to sit on the edges of the conflict, and concentrate on their own issues, this is the first time a Mandalorian has applied and been accepted into the central drafting process for Mercenaries. Moers Boehringer was drafted by the Viking Corp of the Rebel alliance, and stated that he was ecstatic at the selection, claiming that legendary bounty hunter – Adrian Peterson – was a major influence on his choice to pick up a gun. The Viking corp are very happy with their pick, and this could well lead to far more Mercs from the outer rims taking part in the drafting process. The Intergalactic Series has grown wider year by year. With the battles spreading across the great rift into the Europa cluster, with four major battles based around the United systems capital planet. Emperor Goodell has announced that an expansion of conflict is due any time soon. With a strike further to the east of the Europa system imminent, most likely into the Bavarian cluster, and mentions of Rebel bases to the south of the central core. Expect some battles to erupt in the arid southern arm soon. There are even talks about possible rising battles in the far eastern clusters, near the clone factories. The recent Mercenary draft showed it’s more negative side recently, with highly placed hopeful Laremy Tunsil dropping down the rankings rapidly, after images of him using “synth stamps” were leaked, immediately prior to the draft commencing. This caused his stock to plummet dramatically, with a lot of the more established groups keen to distance themselves from the use of controlled substances. Although Tunsil has passed several system scans with a clean sheet, and therefore this image is clearly from before he was considered a potential merc, the damage was already done. The Fin Corp eventually took the player in a later round than expected, and he has sworn to find out who leaked the image, it has been speculated that it was one of his old cred managers. In a surprising move, the Galactic council has overturned the decision of a system council, and re-instated the system-wide ban of Tom Brady from all conflict zones. This ban, installed by Emperor Goodell, after Brady was implicated in the use of under-inflated wamprats in an important conflict near Dagobah. Brady, the hero of the rebel alliance, and his mysterious trainer – Jedi Bellichick – managed to have the ban overturned in a local system. Goodell used his influence to have this decision ooverturned, and Brady will be unable to take part in any conflicts for a while. In the meanwhile, his backup – a known smuggler – will take his place on the field of battle. The rebels are confident that this will have little impact long term. In a new move that could pre-empt a major change in the way that Imperial troops are trained, the Fins Corp have announced a new structure for their new intake training camps. In an interesting move that shows more long term investment in their Stormtroopers, the Fins will be removing physical training from the initial camp, and will be focusing on schemes. The feeling being that too much information in too early a period can lead to troopers feeling swamped, and underperformance. Here’s hoping that they still include shooting drills, and aiming theory in there.
