NFL 2017 Best Bets: Week 7

The turbulent NFL season continues to play havoc with our best bets, but we have a new strategy...

Underdogs are covering 60% this year, road dogs are at 62.5%, so after the worst week of the season so far, it’s time to just go with the flow. This week we are taking ALL the underdogs with one exception, and that is the Browns. We’re never taking the Browns.

Atlanta Falcons (+3.5) over NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

The Patriots defense is devastatingly bad. Josh McCown ripped through them on Sunday and went over 300 yards once again. So why do we think they can keep the Falcons offense under wraps? For as disappointing as the Falcons two-game losing streak is, another loss to the Patriots would be a killer for them. This is a must-win game against a team that they can score on.

NEW YORK GIANTS (+5.5) over Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have won games by three, six, and 28 points. That last one was an anomaly against the Colts, but the rest of the time the Seattle offense has really struggled to do anything. Meanwhile, the Giants defense is starting to find
it’s feet again after an impressive display in Denver.

Their lack of receiving options doesn’t bode well against the Legion of Boom, but Evan Engram has been making plays in the middle of the field and the Giants are starting to run the ball too. They don’t have to win remember, they just have to be close, and against the Seahawks it’s not that hard to stay close.

Tennessee Titans (-5.5) over CLEVELAND BROWNS

I know I said take all the underdogs this week, but the Browns are a different matter. They are 5-17 against the spread since the start of the 2016 season, and that means you just have to go against them. Marcus Mariota’s return to the lineup opens up the offense and they were deadly against the Colts on Monday night. It’s going to be interesting to watch Myles Garrett work against Taylor Lewan, but that battle isn’t going to keep the hapless Browns within touching distance.

Their offense has been diabolical so far this season, despite the offensive line investment. They are averaging just 15.7 points a game and are losing by double-digits in each game. This is a safe bet.

OAKLAND RAIDERS (+3) over Kansas City Chiefs

Arizona Cardinals (+3.5) over LOS ANGELES RAMS

Baltimore Ravens (+5.5) over MINNESOTA VIKINGS

CHICAGO BEARS (+3) over Carolina Panthers

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (+3) over Jacksonville Jaguars

GREEN BAY PACKERS (+5.5) over New Orleans Saints

New York Jets (+3) over MIAMI DOLPHINS

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (+6) over Dallas Cowboys

Cincinnati Bengals (+5.5) over PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Denver Broncos (+2) over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Washington Redskins (+4.5) over PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Last Week: 4-8-0 (0-3-0)

Overall: 45-39-2 (4-14-0)
