Quarterback: J.T. Barrett, Ohio State
J.T. Barrett was electric for the Ohio State Buckeyes, as he engineered the Buckeyes’ major comeback in their 39-38 upset victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions. Barrett was unstoppable, as he completed 33 of his 39 pass attempts for 328 yards and four touchdowns, while also adding 95 yards on the ground.
Running Back: Ronald Jones II, USC
After a couple tough losses, the No. 21 ranked USC Trojans finally got back on track in their massive 48-17 blowout victory over Arizona State. Ronald Jones II was a key contributor in the Trojans’ offense, carrying the ball 18 times for 216 yards and two touchdowns, helping USC attain their seventh win of the season.
Wide Receiver: Greg Dortch, Wake Forest
Wake Forest pulled off a major victory over conference rival Louisville, defeating the Cardinals 42-32. Greg Dortch was explosive for the Demon Deacons, catching ten passes for 167 yards and a whopping four touchdowns, as Wake Forest improved to 5-3 for the season. Unfortunately, Dortch is now out for the season with an abdominal injury, leaving a massive hole in the Demon Deacons’ offense.
Wide Receiver: Tyler Vaughns, USC
Sam Darnold surely was thankful to have Tyler Vaughns on his team Saturday night, as the Trojans defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils 48-17. Vaughns has six receptions for 126 yards and two touchdowns, catching two of Darnold’s three touchdown passes. Thanks to Vaughns, Darnold finally looked like his usual self.
Tight End: Mark Andrews, Oklahoma
Mark Andrews was a key part of the Oklahoma Sooners’ 49-27 blowout victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Andrews caught six passes for 79 yards and a touchdown, helping the Sooners secure their seventh victory of the season.
Offensive Line: Arizona
The Arizona Wildcats’ offensive line was dominant on Saturday in their 58-37 upset victory over the Washington State Cougars. Behind this stellar line, the Arizona offense compiled 585 total yards of offense. Khalil Tate threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 146 yards and another touchdown. J.J. Taylor added 152 yards and two touchdowns on the ground as well.
Defensive End: Alec James, Wisconsin
Alec James was a force to be reckoned with in the Badgers’ 24-10 victory over Illinois, as Wisconsin improved to 8-0 on the season. James recorded four tackles and two sacks, helping limit the Fighting Illini to just ten points and 286 total yards on offense.
Defensive Tackle: Rasheem Green
The USC Trojans demolished the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday in a 48-17 victory, largely due to the strong play of Rasheem Green and the defense. Green was unstoppable, finishing the contest with four tackles and three sacks.
Linebacker: Uchenna Nwosu, USC
Uchenna Nwosu lit up the Arizona State offense, helping the Trojans’ defense hold them to just 17 points and 357 total yards. Nwosu was simply a beast, terrorizing Arizona State all game, finishing with eight tackles, three sacks, and one pass defensed.
Cornerback: Julian Love, Notre Dame
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish shut down the NC State Wolfpack, holding them to just 14 points and 263 total yards on offense. Julian Love played a key role in the Fighting Irish’s victory, as he finished with two tackles, three passes defensed, and one interception which he returned 69 yards for a touchdown.
Safety: Terrell Edmunds, Virginia Tech
Terrell Edmunds and the Virginia Tech defense tortured the Duke Blue Devils all game in the Hokies 24-3 victory. Virginia Tech held Duke to a miniscule three points and 183 total offensive yards, as Edmunds racked up eight tackles, a quarterback hurry, and an interception in the Hokies’ win.
