With the ‘legal tampering’ period in full swing, yesterday was a crazy day in the NFL, with big money deals being announced left, right and centre. But first, some disappointing news for Lions fans. Megatron retires Calvin Johnson confirmed what many had suspected, filing retirement papers with the NFL. You can read our story on it here Oakland gets busy early The Raiders moved quickly once the tampering period opened, reportedly agreeing to terms with former Ravens Guard / Tackle Kelechi Osemele and former Seattle OLB Bruce Irvin. Osemele will receive a reported $60 million over the course of a 5yr deal that will greatly improve the Raiders running game, regardless of it Osemele plays Guard or Tackle. Oakland also reportedly reached a deal with Bruce Irvin that will see him lining up on the edge with Khalil Mack, making the Raiders one of the most fearsome pass rushing teams in the league. No terms are yet being reported on this deal but Irvin had a number of suitors so expect the numbers to be mind-blowing. Jaguars make a big splash The Jaguars jumped in to free agency with both feet, reportedly reaching terms with former Denver Bronco Defensive End, Malik Jackson. The numbers on the deal, if correct, are staggering – 6yrs $90 million with $42 million guaranteed. Pairing Jackson with a healthy Dante Fowler should immediately improve a defense that was among the worst in the league in 2015. Colts bring back their own Indianapolis prevented 2 of their key players from reaching the market on Wednesday, signing Dwayne Allen and Adam Vinatieri to new deals yesterday. Allen received a 4yr, $29.4 million deal while the ageless Vinatieri was inked to a 2 year deal that will pay him $6.5 million. Other Deals Richie Incognito re-signed with the Buffalo Bills – 3yrs, $15 million Mario Williams signed with the Miami Dolphins – 2yrs, 8 million per Jason Pierre-Paul stays in New York – reportedly turning down more money from the Arizona Cardinals – 1yr, $10.5 million Phialdephia Eagles sign Leodis McKelvin as a replacement for Byron Maxwell – 2yrs,  $6 million Drew Stanton returns to Arizona – 2yrs, $6.5 million plus incentives
