After coming in as relief for Brock Osweiler in their Week 17 game, the Broncos have announced that Peyton Manning will be the starter for the team’s first playoff game: https://twitter.com/NFL/status/685123522893615104 The move is somewhat surprising – while Manning played well enough during his appearance against the Chargers, he had played terribly through the first few weeks of the season. Brock Osweiler had done a good job in place of the all-time great, and many expected the younger passer to get the starting nod. However, team management appear to have felt that it’s Peyton who gives the team the best chance to win in the postseason. The Broncos, the #1 seed in the AFC, will host either the Steelers, Chiefs or Texans in the divisional round on January 17th.
