Tyus Jones announced as MVP at NBA Summer League 2016

The young Timberwolves PG shines in Las Vegas.


Minnesota Timberwolves’ point guard Tyus Jones was named as the ‘Most Valuable Player’ at this years’ NBA Summer League.

Jones averaged an impressive 19.4 points (45.7% FG), 6.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals over the course of seven games as Minnesota marched into the final.


The Samsung All-NBA Summer League First and Second teams were also confirmed. Along with Jones, the First Team included Jordan McRae (Cleveland Cavaliers), Ben Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers), Alan Williams (Phoenix Suns) and Bobby Portis (Chicago Bulls).

The Second Team consisted of Thon Maker (Milwaukee Bucks), Kelly Oubre Jr. (Washington Wizards), Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Tyler Ulis (Phoenix Suns) and Normal Powell (Toronto Raptors).

The final between the Chicago Bulls and the Minnesota Timberwolves is at 9pm ET.
