Washington Wizards vs Golden State Warriors: Line-ups, preview and prediction 10/27/17

The Wizards lost a close one against the Lakers and look to bounce back on the road in Oakland.

The Wizards took their first loss of the season in an OT thriller against the Los Angeles Lakers last time out. Bradley Beal led all scorers with 28 points, but it was a tough night for John Wall, who only managed to convert seven of his 22 shots from the field. As a team it was a tough shooting night in general, but the Wizards are still in a strong position with their 3-1 record.

The Warriors’ struggles have been a surprise, but they’ve won two games on the bounce and look to extend the streak with a home win against the Wizards. Their last outing was a 117-112 victory against the Toronto Raptors in an exciting matchup. The Raptors looked set to get the win, but the Warriors ended on a 10-0 run in the last minute and a half to move to 3-2 on the season.

Keys to the game

Turnovers – The Wizards and Warriors had 15 and 17 turnovers respectively in their last outings. They need to take care of the ball better if they’re to take the win at the Oracle.

Efficiency – The Wizards were woefully inefficient in the game against the Lakers, who also shot poorly. But against the Warriors, shooting at a low percentage will lead to one thing: a blowout.

Bench production – The bench was pretty mediocre for both teams in their last matchups. Both will be looking for more production from the second unit here.

Matchup to watch

Backcourt vs backcourt – The Warriors and Wizards boast arguably the two best backcourts in the league, and a potential shoot out looms. Wall will need to rediscover his mojo if he’s to help conquer Curry and Co.

Washington Wizards projected lineup

PG – John Wall | SG – Bradley Beal | SF – Kelly Oubre Jr | PF – Otto Porter Jr | C – Marcin Gortat

Golden State Warriors projected lineup

PG – Steph Curry | SG – Klay Thompson | SF – Kevin Durant | PF – Draymond Green | C – Zaza Pachulia

Fantasy tip

Tough to see anyone stopping Kevin Durant, so he’ll have a big game at the Oracle.

Betting tip

The Warriors are 10.5-point favorites in this matchup, which seems high given the caliber of the opposition. They may not win, but the Wizards should cover at the line.

Prediction

The Warriors are finally clicking a little but still have some kinks to iron out. They take this one relatively easily, 112-104.
