Kevin Durant has agreed to take his talents to the Bay and join the Golden State Warriors.
He will sign a two-year deal worth a reported $54 million.
Seen as one of the premier players in the NBA, Durant has caused somewhat of a shock as he was expected to stay at the Oklahoma City Thunder for at least another year.
Since being drafted by the Thunder (then the Supersonics) in 2007, Kevin Durant has been frustrated in his quest to win a ring, despite having the likes of Russell Westbrook and James Harden in support.
He will now slot into the small forward position vacated by Harrison Barnes, who left for the Dallas Mavericks. KD will now join arguably the best team in the league, which already boasts the likes of the MVP Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
After six highly publicised meetings that also featured the San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and the Thunder, Durant opted for the chance to win rather than the money that his current team could’ve offered.
