PG - Terry Rozier, Boston Celtics @ Brooklyn Nets
Kyrie Irving’s status to return against the Brooklyn Nets from minor facial fractures he suffered against the Los Angeles Lakers remains unclear. But if he does miss another game, Terry Rozier will have another opportunity to play a big role. The Celtics point guard has taken advantage of his opportunities recently, averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 3-pointers over his last three games. Rozier’s upside tonight will be that much higher since he’s set to go up against a Nets defense giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season.
SG - James Harden, Houston Rockets vs Toronto Raptors
James Harden is obviously the biggest star with the biggest chance to go off for another big game, so he’s basically a must-start. Harden dipped below 35 points for the first time in a while last time out against the Indiana Pacers, but he still pieced together a strong fantasy night with 15 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 3-pointers. It hardly seems to matter these days who Harden comes up against, he’ll find a way to put up big numbers.
SF - Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics @ Brooklyn Nets
Jaylen Brown may not have terrific upside fantasy-wise, but boy has he been consistent. The Celtics’ second-year wing has hovered at around 25-35 fantasy points for basically the entire season. He can go off from time to time with 18-plus-point outings, but if he’s not scoring quite as well, he can still contribute with rebounds, steals, and 3-pointers. If you’re looking for sure points at small forward, you can’t go wrong with Brown, whose ceiling should be raised that little bit higher by virtue of facing the Nets.
PF - Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Brooklyn Nets @ Boston Celtics
With D’Angelo Russell out for the foreseeable future, the Nets will need someone to score. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has done just that with surprising consistency this season. The third-year forward is averaging a career-high 14.6 points per game, and is coming off another strong 19-point outing against the Utah Jazz. That’s RHJ’s sixth game of 18 or more points this season. He’s also chipping in with rebounds and steals making him a consistent fantasy player. He’s hit at least 34 fantasy points per FanDuel scoring in four of his last five games, and went off injured in the one game where he failed to do so.
C - Al Horford, Boston Celtics @ Brooklyn Nets
Horford didn’t show signs of the concussion which sidelined him for two games as he went off for 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting in his return against the Toronto Raptors. With Irving’s status still questionable, Horford could continue to have a big role in the Boston offense tonight against the Brooklyn Nets. But just by virtue of facing the Nets, Horford could arguably be the most valuable fantasy commodity around. Brooklyn have been a can’t-miss matchup for big men, as they’re giving up the most fantasy points to opposing centers. It’d be quite a surprise for Horford not to capitalize on this matchup and go off for a big game, especially given how well he’s been playing this year.
