CJ McCollum agrees to four-year extension worth $106 million

The two-guard signs a max-contract to stay in Portland for the next four years.


CJ McCollum has agreed a $106 million four-year extension to remain with the Portland Trailblazers.

Having been drafted at 10th overall in 2013, McCollum impressed in his third year in the NBA, averaging 20.8 points and 4.3 assists, winning 2016’s Most Improved Player award.

Along with Damian Lillard, he formed a backcourt partnership reminiscent of that in the Bay area. They led the Blazers to the second round of the playoffs before ultimately losing to the Golden State Warriors.

McCollum will be the fourth guard signed by Portland to big money deals, after Lillard signed last season for $120 million over five years, Evan Turner to a four-year $70 million contract and Allen Crabbe recently to a four-year $75 million deal.
