UFC Fight Night 119: 3 must watch fights from Sao Paulo, Brazil

The UFC will return to Brazil this weekend Saturday 24 of October for another event stacked full of exciting fights. Three fights not to miss are as follows...

The UFC will return to Brazil this weekend on October 24 for another event stacked full of exciting fights. UFC Fight Night 119: Brunson vs Machida will see the best of Brazil matched up against fighters from all over the globe. Brazilian legend Lyoto Machida will return to face Derek Brunson, also on the card is the return of veteran Demian Maia after his championship fight loss. Maia will face the up-and-coming Colby Covington in the co-main event of the evening.

  1. 3 Francisco Trinaldo vs Jim Miller

The main card's stacked with exciting fights and one of the very best is the matchup between Francisco Trinaldo and Jim Miller.

Trinaldo is coming off a loss to Kevin Lee but before his most recent upset, he was on a 7 fight win streak in a stacked lightweight division, a testament to his skill and toughness. The veteran Jim Miller is a household name to most hardcore fans as he is rarely ever in a boring fight. He has six Fight of the Night bonuses to prove this. Since both men are coming off losses, I expect them to both be keen to get the win this Saturday night and that can only lead to fireworks from two of lightweights toughest competitors.

  2. 2 Derek Brunson vs Lyoto Machida

The main event of the evening will be between Brazilian legend and former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida and the always dangerous Derek Brunson.

Brunson is coming off the vicious first-round knockout of Dan Kelly at UFC Fight Night 110. An All-American wrestler he is very well rounded and he is always very dangerous standing as he possesses the power to shut off anybody's lights if he lands with his powerful hands. His opponent Lyoto Machida is a walking highlight reel with many spectacular KO's throughout the years. He is coming off two losses and is back after a year layoff but he is very insistent on the fact he is back to his old self, as he has a year to train on what has let him down in the past. If both men come to finish the fight, we could see a very exciting main event.

  3. 1 John Lineker vs Marlon Vera

Kicking off the main card is John Lineker vs Marlon Vera and it is what should be a very exciting fight between two hungry contenders in the bantamweight division.

The Brazilian John Lineker is one of the very best in the division with wins over the likes of John Dodson, Michael McDonald and Ian McCall. His last fight was a decision loss to former champ TJ Dillashaw but before that, he was on a six-fight win streak against the who is who in the division. His opponent is the very dangerous Marlon Vera. He is on a three-fight win streak and has lots of momentum behind him viciously knocking out Brad Pickett in what would be his retirement fight. Vera is a man of many talents, a talented striker and black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He, like his opponent, can end a fight wherever it may go which makes for a very exciting fight. This is one not to miss fight fans as they both come to throw down.
