UFC Fight Night 118: What to expect when “Cowboy” and Till collide

UFC Fight Night 118 goes down on 21 October 2017 in Gdansk, Poland. The main event is a clash of experience and youth with Donald Cerrone taking on Darren Till.

What to expect from Cerrone

Having racked up 25 fights inside the UFC octagon, Cowboy is one of the most experienced fighters in the organization. He will bring this experience to the octagon when he faces Darren Till. Expect him to be patient but also always creating forward pressure. He likes to wear down his opponents with his excellent Muay Thai skills and sensational combinations.

Cowboy is coming off a two-fight losing streak. However, I believe in this fight we will see the vintage Donald Cerrone. Expect to see him using his kickboxing skills to knock down Till, and if he puts him down, he will pounce on him using his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to finish the young Englishman. If the fight goes to the ground, however, things could get very interesting with both fighters having superb submission games.

And as always with Cowboy, expect kicks, kicks and more kicks with fighters such as Matt Brown and Melvin Guillard having felt the full effect of these weapons, he will continue to search for that fight-ending strike.

What to expect from Till

With only five fights inside the UFC, it’s clear to see why people still have doubts about Till and why some were surprised when he was given a shot against one of the ‘elite’. However, this brash young Englishman is no slouch. With a brilliant Muay Thai base and nine of his wins coming by knockout, he is not to be taken lightly.

In this fight, I am expecting Till to go all out to try to finish “Cowboy” as it would be a huge victory for him. Expect him to march forward and be ultra aggressive throughout the entire fight. He uses excellent timing to set up vicious elbows and is very inventive in his fights.

” I am the best fighter in the welterweight division”

Expect him to try his very best to prove that very statement and finish Cerrone with any opportunity that might present itself in the octagon.

What will happen?

This fight could turn into an all-time classic with two fighters throwing everything they have at the other to try to knock him unconscious. Expect two fighters to lay it all on the line and as always with MMA, expect the unexpected.

What do you think will happen in this fight? Will Darren Till make a huge statement or will experience prevail?

How couldn't you love a sport where two individuals are locked inside a cage and have to fight until there is enough evidence to declare one of them a winner? Well, it sounds a tad barbaric when I put it like that. But I do love the sport of mma, and I love sharing my opinion on it, here on real sport.
