UFC Fight Night 114: Betting guide and predictions

UFC Fight Night 114 is nearly upon us. Get ready for the UFC's return to Mexico City with our five best bets.

  1. 1 Alexa Grasso to defeat Randa Markos

Alexa Grasso will have the local Mexican fans behind her when she faces off against Randa Markos at UFC Fight Night 114. Grasso entered the UFC with a victory over Heather Clark but ran into a brick wall in Felice Herrig who seemingly had an answer for everything that Grasso offered.

This time, Grasso is up against Randa Markos who enters this fight after scoring an impressive victory over Carla Esparza. Markos got the better of Esparza for portions of the fight but didn't clearly win the contest.

Expect a revitalised Alexa Grasso to find a home for her striking combinations against the defensively lacking Randa Markos this weekend at UFC Fight Night 114.

    Bet: Alexa Grasso to win

  2. 2 Sergio Pettis to snap Brandon Moreno's streak

Brandon Moreno is good, like really, really good. Since he's joined the UFC he has picked up three very impressive victories against some of the UFC's proven flyweights. This time, though, he'll have his work cut out for him against Sergio Pettis.

Pettis enters this fight after a brilliant performance against John Moraga at UFC Fight Night 103. The performance bumped Pettis all the way up to #6 in the UFC's flyweight rankings.

Sergio Pettis is an excellent striker with well-practiced technique. He should be able to make Brandon Moreno pay for his relatively reckless approach. A bonus? He enters this fight as the betting underdog.

    Bet: Sergio Pettis to win

  3. 3 Alan Jouban to end Niko Price

Niko Price shocked MMA fans when he made it through an extremely tough first round with Alex Morono and eventually stopped him with seconds left in the second round. It was at this very moment that I realised that the Niko Price hype is real. Yet, I still don't have him on the level of Alan Jouban.

Alan Jouban's Muay Thai striking and 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu will prove to be too great a puzzle to solve. I'm expecting Niko Price to come off worse on the feet and on the mat in this contest and I'm surprised the bookmakers have this one as close as they do.

    Bet: Alan Jouban to win

  4. 4 Alejandro Perez too fast for Soukhamthath

This fight is going to be an excellent contest between two very talented strikers. For Perez to win, though, there's an obvious path to victory. Perez needs to move forward. Perez is especially dangerous when he pressures his opponent with fast footwork and striking combinations. Unfortunately for Soukhamthath, he prefers to stick to the outside and slowly settle into a fight.

Soukhamthath will struggle to keep up with the pressure of Perez in this fight.

    Bet: Alejandro Perez to win

  5. 5 Sam Alvey to flatten Rashad Evans

Can Rashad Evans find a way to defeat Sam Alvey? He's going to need to get past Alvey's devastating power. When you're inside boxing range with Sam Alvey, you're going to get walloped with punches - there's no question about it. We've seen that Rashad Evans just can't take the kind of power that Alvey packs and I'm fully expecting Evans to go crashing into the mat.

    Bet: Sam Alvey to win
