The 2018 season is a month old, and what a month it has been. The defending champion Houston Astros are running on all cylinders, the New York Yankees are only just getting started, and hitters left and right have been putting up some great performances. That said, what about the pitchers?
Offense wins games, but pitching wins championships and a small handful of arms are already pitching like it's the postseason as opposed to only just entering May. One man has turned last year's lost campaign into a resurgence for the ages. Another two are pitching absolutely out of their collective minds. If the season were to end today, picking a Cy Young winner from either league would be damn near impossible simply because the pitching has been that good.
That said, while the hitters deserve their due respect, let's look at the five best pitchers through the season's first month.
