After knocking the Arizona Diamondbacks’ starting pitchers out of the first two games of the series before the fifth inning, the Los Angeles Dodgers are searching for the sweep tonight. The Diamondbacks have scored nine of their ten runs in the series on home runs while the Dodgers have just one in the two games. Can Arizona bounce back against Yu Darvish or will the pitching struggles be too much to overcome?
Pitching Matchups: Yu Darvish (RHP) vs Zack Greinke (RHP)
A few weeks ago, the Diamondbacks would’ve been jumping up and down to have Zack Greinke starting at home in a playoff game. Over his last three starts, however, things have not gone well for the 17-game winner. Greinke has only pitched eight innings and has an ERA north of 11 over those three appearances and he only went 3.2 innings in the NL Wild Card Game after nearly giving up a six-run lead.
As for Darvish, he is 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in his career. He was 4-3 with the Dodgers this year and put up a respectable 3.44 ERA with the team. Against the Diamondbacks, Darvish is 2-1 with a 1.77 ERA, which means the Dodgers may have the advantage. It’s also worth noting Greinke’s only loss at home this season was against the Dodgers on August 9.

Who’s Hot, Who’s Not?
J. D. Martinez is continuing his hot stretch from the regular season, hitting .500 with a home run in the NLDS. The Diamondbacks have not been shy to the long ball, with six different guys hitting homers in the first two games combined, but Martinez is definitely leading the club.
As for the Dodgers, Yasiel Puig and Justin Turner are mashing the ball with both guys hitting over .500 respectfully. Turner has the only home run for the Dodgers in the series, but Puig’s three hits in Game 2 sparked the Dodgers offense taking a 2-0 lead.
The Diamondbacks may be hitting long balls but that’s all they’ve done so far. Paul Goldschmidt and David Peralta have yet to break out, with both guys being a combined 1 for 12 in the series.
For the Dodgers, NL Rookie of the Year candidate Cody Bellinger has one hit in the first two games and has a .100 batting average this postseason. If Bellinger doesn’t find his swing, who knows how the Dodgers will fare the rest of the postseason?
Prediction: D-backs 8, Dodgers 4
