Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Lineup advice for June 18, 2018

It's a pretty busy Monday for MLB, which makes the DFS contests very tasty. Who should be in your lineup?

Monday is a travel day but there are still 10 games on the slate, with nine available to play on DraftKings’ 7:05pm ET contest. That’s more than enough reason to play. So, who should be in your lineup today?

Trevor Bauer Vs. Chicago White Sox ($12,400)

Gerrit Cole may be starting today, but Bauer is in terrific form and should be the ace you use today. The Indians righty has four 30+ point starts in his last six games, with his last one coming against these White Sox. He has at least 11 strikeouts in his last four starts, and while he has allowed an ERA of 3.45 in those games, the K’s are too much to say no to.

Jhoulys Chacin @ Pittsburgh Pirates ($7,500)

Chacin has been in good form of late. He’s picked up the win in each of his last three games, along with 20+ points to boot. He’s not exactly a sexy pick, with just 64 strikeouts in 81.1 innings, but Chacin’s 3.32 ERA and Milwaukee’s strong play this season it seems like a good move to ride his hot streak and take some value from today.

Dylan Covey @ Cleveland Indians ($7,000)

This play worked brilliantly last week as Covey picked up 19.8 points against Bauer and the Indians. This week he is a little more expensive, but the theory is the same. Covey’s 2.29 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 35.1 innings are too good to turn down at this price, and while there is only one W to split between Covey and Bauer it could turn away some players, but the results speak for themselves.

Paul Goldschmidt @ Los Angeles Angels ($5,500)

When a great player is hot, start them. Paul Goldschmidt had a rotten start to the season, but boy is he flying high now. Six homers and 18 hits in his last 10 games gives him a ridiculous 17.3 average in that time span. Yea, he’s still a monster at the plate.

Rhys Hoskins Vs. St. Louis Cardinals ($4,400)

Another player finding his stroke is Rhys Hoskins. While he is carrying just a .248 average for the year, he’s hitting .314 over his last 10 games with four homers and three doubles. That’s an 11.3 average, which for just $4,400 is a good return.

JD Davis Vs. Tampa Bay Rays ($3,600)

Not every hitter in your lineup can be a star. The Astros first baseman/outfielder has seven hits in his last 10 games though, along with seven walks and a homer. That gives him a 6.2 average in that time span, which isn’t bad for his price tag at all.
