Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Lineup advice for August 25, 2017

15 games, 30 starters, a myriad of bats... Sometimes it can all be too much, but don't worry, we have you covered.

A full slate of games heading into the final weekend of August gives us a lot to consider. There are many good pitchers going tonight, but enough poor ones that there are great options among the hitters. So who should be in your lineup? We’ve got you covered.

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for August 25, 2017

There is an array of talent on the mound tonight. Which should you consider?

Zack Greinke vs San Francisco Giants: $12,600 DraftKings, FPPG – 21.5

Greinke’s last start against the Twins was a little rough, and his ERA has jumped 32 points in August, but that’s no reason not to play the Diamondbacks’ ace tonight. He’s picked up 29 strikeouts in 23.1 innings this month, and the Giants continue to suck. If Greinke will find his groove again, it will be tonight.

Kenta Maeda vs Milwaukee Brewers: $10,300 DraftKings, FPPG – 14.9

Of all the Dodgers pitchers, Maeda is maybe the worst, but that doesn’t mean he’s terrible. A 3.88 ERA and 1.114 WHIP is still a strong season, especially when it’s paired with a 9.0 K/9.

His last two starts have been good, but before then he had a five-start stretch where he gave up just four earned runs. Maeda can get it done, and the Brewers are wavering right now.

Collin McHugh @ Los Angeles Angels: $7,800 DraftKings, FPPG – 13.9

McHugh is finding his rhythm after missing the first half of the season. In his last two starts, he has an ERA of 1.54 and has struck out nine. While McHugh isn’t going deep into games yet, he is putting up six innings with regularity and keeping the opposition well in hand. The Angels got shut out last night, and they might again tonight.

Best DFS MLB Hitters for August 25, 2017

There are a lot of good options tonight, but you can’t just stack Mike Trout, Giancarlo Stanton, and Aaron Judge. So who else should be in your lineup tonight?

Tommy Pham vs Tampa Bay Rays: $4,700 DraftKings, FPPG – 9.2

Pham may have gone 0-for-4 last night, the second such performance in four games, but he is one of the more prolific fantasy players this season thanks to his solid power and speed and a .301 average. I trust him to bounce back quickly from this mini-slump.

Corey Seager vs Milwaukee Brewers: $4,600 DraftKings, FPPG – 8.8

Seager got a day off last night, but he is back tonight and back with a 12-game hitting streak. With Cody Bellinger out, Seager is the best bat in a dangerous Dodgers lineup and they are going against the hit-and-miss Chase Anderson.

Byron Buxton @Toronto Blue Jays: $4,000 DraftKings, FPPG – 6.2

Buxton was dreadful in the first half of the season, but it’s all coming together now. He has hit .297 in August and picked up his fifth homer of the month last night. Combine that with six steals and 14 RBI and you have a player who is performing far better than this price tag.

Best stack option

Stacking is always risky, and this might be my riskiest suggestion yet, but logically it makes sense.

Oakland Athletics vs Nick Martinez (TEX)

If the 5.38 ERA isn’t enough to make you consider some A’s tonight, how about the 6.23 FIP and the 2.2 HR/9 rate? Martinez has been a liability this season and has allowed six home runs in his last three appearances. Matt Joyce ($4,200), Khris Davis ($3,900), and Matt Olson ($3,400) are all good options tonight.
