The former Knicks point guard Stephon Marbuy shared a video on his Weibo account teasing “exciting news” coming soon.

“I decided to march [into the] eSports industry to build my own team and recruit players, from my fans, in no time,” Marbury stated in the video. No additional information was revealed so this is the first hint that a formal announcement is most likely coming soon.

Marbury plays for the Beijing Ducks and has helped lead the team to three championships from 2012 to 2015. He has described himself as a big fan of Chinese culture, claiming it as the reason for his success. He described the culture as “filled with love, compassion, and care.”

Given the popularity of Marbury in China, it is likely that his team will be based there and will consist of local players.
