NFC Divisional Game #1
Green Bay Packers @ Arizona Cardinals, Saturday January 16th 8:15pm EST
The Packers come into this contest having demolished the Washington Redskins the week before and on a major high. The Offense looked good and returned to form after having lost two straight to close out the regular season. This will be a different contest for the Packers as they come to the desert and face a Cardinals team fresh off a bye after having won the NFC West with a 13-3 regular season. Without further ado, let’s see what Madden had to say for the match-up.
The Packers began the game on Offense and looked good right out of the gate but were unable to put points on the board. The 1st quarter ended 0-0 with some three and out drives from both teams. Carson Palmer decided to take matters into his own hands and led the Cardinals Offense down the field connecting with Michael Floyd on a 6 yard touchdown pass. Rodgers and the Pack Attack just could not get going and were shut out for the first half. The Cards tacked on a field goal and took a 10-0 lead into the half. The Cardinals seemed destined for victory as they were driving in Packers territory looking to add to their 10-0 advantage. Ellington then fumbled the ball giving the Packers a lifeline but the play was challenged and overturned. Andre Ellington redeemed himself later in the drive ramming home a 1 yard touchdown run and putting the final nail in the Packers coffin. 17-0 with two minutes remaining proved to be too much for the Packers Offense to overcome. Even in the hurry up offense and the ball moving, the Cardinals were able to intercept Aaron Rodgers to put the exclamation point on a shutout win. The Cardinals now advance to the NFC Championship game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJQPPMq-CXM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-gwF9AIHco
