AFC Wild Card Game #2
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals, Saturday January 8th 8:15pm EST
Having just finished the day game which saw the Texans topping the Chiefs in OT, our RealSport Madden NFL 16 Preview is ready for the main event. The second Wild Card match-up is the much anticipated AFC North rivalry showcasing the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Cincinnati Bengals. The teams split the regular season 1-1 with the away team winning both games. Big Ben and the Steelers against Andy Dalton and the Bengals has high scoring close game all over it.
Our preview predicted a close one and Madden certainly delivered. The Bengals jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead which turned into a defensive battle throughout the remainder of the first half. Ben Roethlisberger was able to lead a final minute touchdown drive to knot the game at 7 before halftime. The second half was a much different story. A back and forth offensive blitz ensued with Dalton finding the end zone to put Cincy on top 21-14 in the 3rd. Not to worry for Steelers’ fans as they returned the ensuing kickoff 92 yards to the house to knot the game up at 21 (highlight). As the 4th quarter began, you could tell a close finish was on the cards. Dalton again put the Bengals up 28-21 and it was up to the Steelers O to answer in a dramatic two minute drill finish to the 4th quarter. On the last play of the game, in classic Big Ben fashion, he found Antonio Brown in the end zone as time expired to send our second game of the day into overtime. The Steelers won the coin toss, elected to receive but were unable to score. After stopping the Bengals drive and getting the ball back, it was down to sudden death. Big Ben led the Steelers down the field and set up the game winning 47 yard field goal sending the Steelers on to next week’s divisional playoff game (highlight). The Player of the Game was without a doubt Ben Roethlisberger who threw for 267 yards and 3 TDs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI7QnpERti4&feature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DbpkSjWy3c
