Their roster includes Licorice in the top lane, Gilius in the jungle, Fox in the mid lane, Deftly in the ADC position, and Zeyzal in the support role.
What does the second best NA CS team have to offer?
United We Stand
eUnited don’t have that much hype behind them, but there are definitely standout players on their roster. The two rookies— Licorice and Deftly—have been particularly impressive. And, of course, you can always count on veterans like Fox and Gilius to pull through in-game.
In order to win, this team relies on player synergies and their strong bot lane. Their team fighting tends to be scrappy, and they can struggle to find a good time to initiate but they definitely won’t let it slide if their enemies overextend. This combination of strong laning and reactive decision-making proved vital to their success in NA CS.
Unfortunately, you can only do so much with reactive play, and the team crumbled when facing a stronger opponent in the final against GCU. Can they regain their momentum and get into LCS?
Right Play at the Wrong Time
While I’ve mentioned that eUnited excel at reactive play, it’d be a bit unfair to say that this is their defining trait. After all, you can see them make plenty of right moves in-game: from a 4-man bot lane dive to a bold invade into the enemy jungle. Unfortunately, these plays often backfire, as eUnited fail to account for opponents’ moves or get overeager and overstep their limits.
But even if they get aced in a chaotic skirmish, this lineup can always find that one miracle team fight that will bring them back into the game. With strong players that know how to work together, eUnited present a threat that’s not to be underestimated.
The Carry Trio
There’s not one, not two but three players to follow on this team.
The top laner, Licorice, is a beast in lane. His 2.9 KDA and 8.0 CS per minute might not look too impressive, but Licorice’s immaculate play allows him to pressure his laning opponent and even turn around 1v2 ganks. In team fights, he plays a mean frontline tank, and can always torch his enemies with a well-placed Equalizer on Rumble.
His teammate, Fox, is a veteran mid laner that has had strong showings on mages and assassins alike. Sporting a 4.1 KDA and 8.7 CS per minute, he is formidable in his own right but it’s his synergy with the team’s jungler, Gilius, that truly makes Fox dangerous.
And then we have Deftly, the rookie ADC that’s taken NA CS by storm. With a 4.3 KDA, 8.9 CS per minute, and an insane 603 DPM, he’s definitely a rising talent to look out for.
Tomorrow (31.03.2017), eUnited will square off against Team Liquid in a BO5 series for a chance to join NA LCS. Only time will tell if they can do it but for now, you can take a look at our prediction piece to see what we think about this matchup.
