Another day, another playoff series! This time CLG will face FlyQuest! What will it take for either of them to come out on top?

CLG 3 Keys

Win the Vision Game: FlyQuest has been known to catch teams off guard with early roams and rotations. The best way to counter this is to set up strong early game vision to keep tabs on FlyQuest’s members. Of course, this is something that’s easier said than done. CLG will have to draft a mobile jungler and a mid laner with push priority and rely on them to light up the map. But if they manage to pull it off, they will land a decisive blow onto FlyQuest’s early game.

Invest in Stixxay: CLG don’t have many outstanding players but the one who shines most in their lineup is Stixxay. He’s a team fighting monster with the second highest DPM in the league. With the current ADC carry meta shifting in favor of carry-oriented marksmen, it seems like a no-brainer to play around your star player.

Camp Hai: It’s common knowledge that FlyQuest relies on their mid laner to make the most of their decisions. These sharp, aggressive calls are the main thing that sets FlyQuest apart from other NA LCS teams. But it’s hard to lead from behind. If CLG put enough pressure on Hai, they can shut down FlyQuest’s biggest strength and simultaneously set themselves up for a smooth late game.

Go For Plays: While FlyQuest members fall too far behind on an individual basis, they won’t be able to take over the game on their own. This team has always relied on making a sudden rotation or setting up a surprise gank to pull ahead. This matchup is no different—FlyQuest should play to their strengths and use their playmaking to the fullest potential.

Take Over the Jungle: The one place that FlyQuest have a lead over CLG is in the jungle. With a 3.8 KDA and 5.0 CS per minute, Moon is the man that can break open this game. One way to exploit this would be to draft a strong jungler and a mid laner that can come to his aid and pressure Xmithie with one invade after another.

Bring in the Team Fights: CLG is notoriously bad at mid game team fighting. It’s so bad that they’ve become infamous for getting aced time and time again before the 20-minute mark. That’s why FlyQuest have to create as many team fighting scenarios as they can. Set up dives, contest objectives, push into the enemy jungle—do everything possible to draw CLG into skirmishes.

In your opinion, what are the keys to victory for FQ and CLG? Let us know in the comments!
