FM17: Burnley Squad Player Ratings Breakdown

Here's the Burnley team on Football Manager 2017 with all the player ratings and values revealed and broken down to help you understand your squad.

In terms of survival, Burnley’s squad definitely has enough quality if you pick the right tactics to suit the players you have at your disposal. The squad is littered with players all capable of reaching four-star ability and they should be nurtured correctly. Make sure you’re training is right, use your backroom staff’s advice if it’s useful, and give them enough game time so as to keep their potential rating high. Note that Patrick Bamford is only a loan signing and won’t be hanging around the club too long.

Transfer budget: £10,000,000

Wage budget: £581,898

GoalkeeperPaul Robinson2.52.536England£53k
GoalkeeperTom Heaton3.53.530England£7.5m

Burnley have a similar problem to Bournemouth in the goalkeeping department. Both of their ‘keepers are aging, although Tom Heaton has a high current rating. Moreover, at 30, he still has a good few years left in him and you won’t have to think about a replacement for a couple of seasons at least. Back-up will have to be signed fairly soon, though.

DefenderMatt Lowton3327England£4.2m
DefenderTendayi Darikwa2.53.524England£2.6m

Note the high potential ratings of Jon Flanagan and Michael Keane. Both are also only 23-years-old and will be features of your first team defence for years to come. James Tarkowski, too, has a high potential rating and could be the long-term partner to Keane. Burnley are a little short of quality at left back and Darikwa could be sold to find funds for a replacement.

MidfielderJohann Berg Guomundsson3.53.525Iceland£9.75m
MidfielderJeff Hendrick3.5424Ireland£10m

Jeff Hendrick is Burnley’s key player and should be playing from the off. You also have Defour, Boyd and Gudmundsson with 3.5 star potential and current rating so there’s enough quality to survive in the Premier League. It might be worth loaning Kightly out since he is 17-years-old.

StrikerAndre Gray3.53.525England£10.75m
StrikerAshley Barnes3326England£4.2m
StrikerSam Vokes3.53.526Wales£4.2m

Up front, Burnley have Vokes, Bamford and Gray all with a 3.5 star potential rating and, between them, the goals should flow if you play the right tactics. Bamford, however, is only on loan and will be gone again after a year.
