FIFA 17: Team of the Week 20 (TOTW) Predictions

With a break in English football, the focus was on the rest of Europe's leagues. Check out our predictions for FUT TOTW 20!

With a small hiatus in English football for FA Cup, in which we saw a number of shock results and two non-league sides qualifying for the Fifth Round, the focus was on European football.

With Barcelona and Atletico Madrid drawing, while Sevilla lost, Real Madrid were able to open up a four-point gap at the top of La Liga. Bayern Munich kept up their three point lead over RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, while it’s close at the top of the French Ligue 1 with Monaco and Nice both on 49 points and Paris St Germain breathing down their necks on 46. We look at which individuals put worthy of a spot in FIFA Ultimate Team: Team of the Week.

Stefano Sorrentino (OVR 80)

Stefano Sorrentino put in a crucial performance between the sticks in Chievo’s 1-0 victory over fifth-placed Lazio. With the hosts dominating, it was a backs-to-the-wall performance from Chievo and Sorrentino was called up time and time again to rescue Chievo. Lazio had a total of 28 attempts at goal and Sorrentino made eight key saves to keep the hosts at bay and secure a vital three points. He’s rated at 80 and currently valued at 700 coins on both Xbox One and PS4.

David Alaba (OVR 87)

Bayern remain three points clear at the top of the Bundesliga following their 2-1 victory over strugglers Werder Bremen. Arjen Robben opened the scoring, but it was Davis Alaba who doubled the lead and ultimately secured the points with a curling free-kick on the stroke of half-time. The Austrian defender won’t come cheap, however, as his 87 rating means he’s valued at 80,000 coins on Xbox One and 114,000 on PS4.

Alvaro (OVR 77)

Villarreal kept up the pressure on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League spots with a convincing 2-0 victory over bottom-placed side Granada and centre-back Alvaro was at the centre of this win. Just before halftime, a well-taken free kick found Alvaro at the far post, and he put it back across goal for Bruno to tap in. With an assist already to his name, Alvaro doubled the lead with a rebounded effort from a set-piece. Rated at 77, Alvaro will only cost 400 coins on both consoles.

D’Ambrosio (OVR 75)

Fallen Serie A giants Inter continued their resurgence with a comfortable 3-0 victory over bottom-placed Pescara. The result saw them move into fourth spot following Lazio’s loss, three points behind Napoli in a Champions League spot. Danilo D’Ambrosio was crucial in the result, as he was assured at the back whilst getting on the scoresheet. D’Ambrosio added the gloss to the victory by tapping in from Mauro Icardi’s cross at the end of an incisive Inter breakaway. With the right-back valued at 75, he’ll only cost 400 coins on both consoles.

Youri Tielemans (OVR 77)

Youri Tielemans is a name that has garnered a lot of interest over the last year because of the bags of potential he so clearly has. Currently still in the Belgian First Division with Anderlecht, Tielemans showed his potential once again with a decisive performance in Anderlecht’s 4-2 win over Westerlo on Wednesday. Picking up the ball on the left flank, the teenager dribbled past two Westerlo players before curling his shot into the near-post corner. He also added two assists in a Man of the Match performance. Valued at 77, Tielemans only costs 400 coins on Xbox One and 500 on PS4.

Naby Keita (OVR 81)

Keita continued his fantastic season with Bundesliga surprise package RB Leipzig with another Man of the Match performance in their 2-1 win over Hoffenheim. The result meant die Rotten Bullen kept up their pursuit of leaders Bayern Munich, sitting three points behind. With Hoffenheim taking the lead, Keita seized control of the game and began dictating proceedings, registering two assists. His energy and pressing won the ball back for the first goal, and it was crucial throughout the match. Valued at 81, Keita isn’t cheap, costing 26,500 coins on Xbox One and 37,000 on PS4.

Bruma (OVR 77)

It’s no wonder Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Bruma as performances like this indicate. The left winger was instrumental in Galatasaray’s huge 6-0 victory over Akhisar, meaning they kept up the pressure on surprise Turkish Super Lig leaders Istanbul Basaksehir. With two goals to his name, Bruma’s 77 rating is set to soar, and the winger only costs 700 coins on both consoles.

Wesley Sneijder (OVR 83)

The forgotten man of Europe, Wesley Sneijder, reminded us of his fantastic ability with a decisive performance in Galatasaray’s 6-0 win on the weekend. Without Sneijder, Bruma wouldn’t have been able to get his goals as the veteran Dutchman registered three assists during the game. Rated at 83, Sneijder represents good value for money as he’s only going to cost you 750 coins on Xbox One and 800 on PS4.

Scott Sinclair (OVR 75)

Celtic extended their unbeaten run to 27 games with a 4-0 victory over Hearts, breaking a record that had been set by the Lisbon Lions in 1967. Scott Sinclair continued his career revival with a pivotal role in the victory, scoring twice, one penalty, and assisting one goal. He started the game at centre-forward because of injuries to Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele, but the former Manchester City midfielder impressed. Valued at 75, Sinclair will only cost 650 coins on both consoles.

Bafetimbi Gomis (OVR 78)

Marseille cemented their sixth-placed spot in the French Ligue 1 with a convincing 5-1 victory over Montpellier and Gomis was at the centre of the result with a hat-trick. He shrugged off a defender and coolly finished for the first, tapped in his second and powered his third into the roof of an almost empty net. The former Swansea striker’s 78 rating means he only costs 800 coins on PS4 and 1,200 on Xbox One.

Samuel Eto’o (OVR 81)

The 35-year-old former Barcelona striker reminded us that he still has an eye for goal with both goals in Antalyaspor’s 2-1 victory Alanyaspor. It meant that Antalyaspor cemented fifth spot in the Turkish Super Lig, but they remain some way of the leaders. Valued at 81, Eto’o is good value for money as his advancing years means he’ll only cost 700 coins on both PS4 and Xbox One.
