FIFA 16 Stoke: Complete Guide For Career Mode

FIFA 16 Stoke – For those gamers that don’t like playing online, manager mode is their FIFA haven. A place where you can take apart any team you want, and completely construct a new one, however you please. Sometimes though, it helps to have a helping hand in explaining how to best use different teams on Career Mode. So, RealSport have devised a team-by-team guide for anyone looking to start a manager mode on FIFA 16. For a full list of the guides to the other 19 Premier League teams, click here.

A list of some other useful FIFA guides: Complete Premier League Team-By-Team Guide For Completing Career Mode:

General Tips

  • Always choose the lenient option when selecting your ‘financial strictness’. This way you get 85% of the money that the board receives from outgoing transfers to spend on new players
  • Use the new ‘Training’ feature – even if you can’t be bothered to always carry out the drills, simulate 5 drills every week, it’s a useful way to help your players grow outside of matches

  • Transfer budget – £21.5m
  • Wage budget – £110k

What the team needs

  • Centre midfielder

  • Left back

Who you should get rid of

A general rule here is to sell off players that are old (31+), as on FIFA, their ratings can deteriorate pretty fast, so it’s best to cash in on them while they’re still valuable.

  • Stephen Ireland – £3.5m
  • Marc Wilson – £2m
  • Andy Wilkinson – £1m

Total Received = £6.5m

New Budget = £28m

Who you should buy (with the smaller budget)

If you can, aim to sign younger players, as FIFA has this thing for making a majority of all decent young players develop pretty well, even if they don’t in real life. If you can’t sell the ‘deadweight’ players, the following are those you can sign within your original budget (£21.5m):

Name: Youri Tielemans (77)

Cost: £11m from Anderlecht

Is he worth it?

  • Tielemans is a perfect fit for Stoke, who didn’t really replace Steven N’Zonzi over the summer
  • He joins Stoke as one of the best centre-mids at the club, and without a doubt, soon to be the highest rated player in the team

Alternative option – Will Hughes (73) – £5m (Derby)

Name: Jonas Hector (77)

Cost: £9m from FC Koln

Is he worth it?

  • Hector is still relatively young at 25, heading into his best years, and is already better than any of other Stoke’s full-backs

Alternative option –  Elmir Nabiullin (71) – £2.5m (Rubin Kazan)

Who you should buy (with the larger budget)

If you do manage to sell the ‘deadweight’ players listed above, these are the extra players you should think about signing. Each player’s rating is shown in brackets:

Name: M’Baye Niang (74)

Cost: £4.7m from AC Milan

Is he worth it?

  • Stoke’s attack is already pretty deadly, so Niang is a nice super-sub to nurture in the first few seasons, before letting him take over the reigns from Diouf eventually

Name: Kenny Tete (74)

Cost: £5m from Ajax

Is he worth it?

  • If like me you deem Glen Johnson not good enough to be your starting full-back, then signing Tete makes the most sense with the remaining £6m you should have
  • He starts off slightly lower-ranked than Johnson but will surpass the former Liverpool man in no time at all
