FIFA 16 Leicester: Complete Guide For Career Mode

FIFA 16 Leicester – For those gamers that don’t like playing online, manager mode is their FIFA haven. A place where you can take apart any team you want, and completely construct a new one, however you please. Sometimes, though, it helps to have a helping hand in explaining how to best use different teams on Career Mode. So, RealSport have devised a team-by-team guide for anyone looking to start a manager mode on FIFA 16. For a full list of the guides to the other 19 Premier League teams, click here. General Tips

  • Always choose the lenient option when selecting your ‘financial strictness’. This way you get 85% of the money that the board receives from outgoing transfers to spend on new players
  • Use the new ‘Training’ feature – even if you can’t be bothered to always carry out the drills, simulate 5 drills every week, it’s a useful way to help your players grow outside of matches

  • Transfer budget – £19.5m
  • Wage budget – £70k

What the team needs

  • Winger
  • Right-back
  • Centre-back

Who you should get rid of

A general rule here is to sell off players that are old (31+), as on FIFA, their ratings can deteriorate pretty fast, so it’s best to cash in on them while they’re still valuable. Unfortunately, Leicester doesn’t have any players I’d recommend selling. Of course, you still can sell whoever you want, but I wouldn’t recommend selling any players.

Who you should buy (with the smaller budget)

If you can, aim to sign younger players, as FIFA has this thing for making a majority of all decent young players develop pretty well, even if they don’t in real life. If you can’t sell the ‘deadweight’ players, the following are those you can sign within your original budget (£19.5m):

Name: Luan (78)

Cost: £8m from Atletico Mineiro

Is he worth it?

  • Luan would be your best winger both now, and in future, as his rating of 78 is higher than of Leicester’s current crop, including Riyad Mahrez
  • Luan is a must-buy for Leicester, who need someone who can contribute from the word go

Alternative option – Goncalo Guedes (72) – £3m (Benfica)

Name: Joel Ward (76)

Cost: £6m from Crystal Palace

Is he worth it?

  • Ward is a nice option for clubs who you’d typically expect to be battling relegation, as he’s ready for as much first-team football as you can give him
  • Ward is also better than any right-back Leicester currently have, which if nothing else, will help when you choose to simulate those games you can’t be bothered to play

Alternative option –  Kenny Tete (74) – £5m (Ajax)

Name: Eder Alvarez Balanta (74)

Cost: £3.3m from River Plate

Is he worth it?

  • Balanta is already good enough to warrant a starting berth at Leicester, meaning his ranking will grow to the late 70s at the very least within his first season
  •  Given that Leicester have three needs to satisfy, you should sign the cost-efficient Balanta over a more expensive alternative

Alternative option – Bjorn Engels (74) – £5.5m (Club Brugges)

Who you should buy (with the larger budget)

If you do manage to sell the ‘deadweight’ players listed above, these are the extra players you should think about signing. Each player’s rating is shown in brackets:

Name: Munir (73)

Cost: Loan from Barcelona

Is he worth it?

  • Leicester don’t have any players of value worth selling, so you’re going to have settle for a few cost-effective loan signings here

Name: Jordon Ibe (71)

Cost: Loan from Liverpool

Is he worth it?

  • Ibe can battle with Munir to see which of the two you’ll keep for the second year of their loan deal, and which one you’ll send back to their club early, which makes for a nice side-storyline to follow in your Career Mode
