3-4th DreamHack Montreal 2017
9-12th DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017
The new Cloud9 roster had a shaky start at Malmo where the team failed to make it out of groups, but rebounded quickly at the smaller DreamHack Montreal ASTRO Open. ESL One: New York proved that Cloud9 could continually make it out of the group stage at large events, but a crushing loss to FaZe Clan in the semi-finals also proved that the team needs to gel together as a team in order to compete with the world’s elite.

One of stars of the North American OpTic Gaming that won ELEAGUE season 2, Tarik is undoubtedly looking to make it a back-to-back win, but that path starts with G2 Esports. Moving to the in game leader role has not had a serious impact on Tarik’s fragging ability and he has shown an adaptation for smart plays since ESL One: Cologne 2017. Against G2 Esports he will face a team that plays a similarly loose style of Counter-Strike and his workload will be cut out for him to pick and ban the right maps against the French that can give the North Americans the best chance to win.
Cloud9 faces off against G2 Esports at 2pm on Tuesday in the opener match for the ELEAGUE Premier. The matchup should go the way of G2 Esports, but Cloud9 is not a complete underdog and if the team sees consistent performance from Skadoodle then they could get past G2 Esports in a tight 2-1.
