Another week has concluded in the Fortnite World Cup qualifiers, with the second to last duo week coming to close many duos are approaching their last chance at qualifying for the $30,000,000 World Cup. However, for the duos whom qualified this past weekend, it is a sign of jubilation and payoff for all the countless hours they have put into the game.

These are our Week 8 takeaways for NAE!

XXiF and Ronaldo Qualify

In perhaps one of the most controversial moments in recent memory, the duo who were recently banned for teaming in the Fortnite World Cup qualifiers week 3 have officially qualified in Week 8.

Epic Games banned the pair for only two weeks back in early May after they investigated the allegations that members of the community brought forward to Epic Games. The Fortnite community did not hold back when the official news blog came out with the two-week ban, most of the community was up in arms saying it was only a pat on the back for the pair, especially in a $30,000,000 tournament.

With XXiF and Ronaldo qualifying for the Fortnite World Cup, it jeopardizes the competitive integrity of Fortnite, the World Cup itself will be viewed by millions worldwide with over 10,000 people seated at the venue how will these casters try to explain their route to a qualification? Professional player and content creator SypherPK made a tweet on May 3rd which foreshadowed the exact week the duo qualified and the potential outcome casters such as CourageJD and DrLupo may have to endure during the Fortnite World Cup.

DrLupo released his full thoughts on the situation which included multiple expletives, but it is without a doubt his full thoughts on the situation. It is no question that XXiF and Ronaldo are talented enough to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup, they ultimately proved this the past weekend, it is the cluelessness in terms of competitive integrity that Epic Games has demonstrated throughout this whole situation.

Scheduling Problems Ahead

A recent discovery by members of the community has informed everyone that the last weekend of duo qualifiers for the Fortnite World Cup is set to kick off the same weekend as the Fortnite Pro-Am at E3 2019 in Los Angeles. This emerges as a massive problem for certain professional players eager to have one more shot at qualifying. Popular professional players such as Ninja, Tfue and Cloakzy are all confirmed to be attending the Pro-Am in LA but all have yet to qualify for duos and are contemplating skipping the event to have one more crack at qualification.

Cloakzy took to Twitter to express his frustration with Epic Games yet again and how such a simple detail was somehow overlooked when planning the two events. Ninja has also expressed his internal turmoil on what to do in regards to the matter, should the two duos go to the Pro-Am and play in LA on NAW, there would only be one spot available to them as only the winner from NAW qualifies for the Fortnite World Cup.

Epic Games has not commented on the situation but as the date looms closer, the thought of them postponing the last duo qualifier for the benefit of a few players certainly seems like the best option.
