Nigeria didn’t really get going until the second half of the second game in Group D when two goals from Ahmed Musa gave them a 2-0 victory over Iceland. That followed an opening defeat to Croatia in which they looked out of their depth.

Argentina could only manage a draw against Iceland and also fell to Croatia leaving them on the brink of elimination. However, Nigeria’s win handed them a lifeline heading into the final round of group matches.

Can Messi and Co. get their World cup campaign back on track? Or will they suffer further ignominy at the hands of the improving Africans?
