Gears 5 may have been out for over a year now, but The Coalition continue to release fresh content for their Microsoft exclusive.

Following November's Xbox Series X|S update, Gears 5 will now receive a new campaign expansion DLC called Hivebusters, that adds another three hours of story-mode content to get stuck into.

Gears 5 Hivebisters will launch on Tuesday, 15 December across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
Price
All Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will receive the new expansion for free, whilst the expansion is also available to buy separately for $19.99 /£14.99.

New Campaign Details
In Hivebusters, you'll play as Lahni, Keegan and Mac who you might remember from Gears 5's Escape Mode.
You'll join our heroes on their first operation as part of the secretive Hivebuster program, dubbed "Scorpio Squad".
Your mission? Destroy a Swarm Hive who might hold the key to saving Sera and their own redemption.
The campaign will span three hours and is set on the volcanic Galangi islands, where lava flows and sandy beaches are crawling with both Swarm and a deadly new predator!

There's also few additional pieces of content coming with the new DLC.
These include using and upgrading Ultimate Abilities in a campaign story for the first time, a 3-player co-op mode (split-screen or online) and 16 new achievements to unlock a 210 Gamerscore.
