With heartbreaks and near misses all too frequent, the Seagulls finally took their perch on England’s top football table this season with Chris Hughton leading their charge; the season that has followed has been remarkable.
Sitting in fourteenth position with an away trip to Anfield left, Brighton have secured their Premier League status for a second season.
The words ‘second season’ are often followed by ‘syndrome’ when assessing newly promoted teams ambitions.
However, with all newly promoted sides from the 2016/17 season avoiding the drop this campaign, the focus won’t be directly on the Seagulls as we look towards August already.
