NBA 2K22 is adding an all-new Dunk Style Creator mode this year

NBA 2K22 has been relatively quiet for some time, but a major drop of this year's gameplay details has revealed Dunk Style Creator!

We now know that players will have the opportunity to use this new game mode to craft their ideal fantasy dunk in NBA 2K22.

Following the NBA 2K22 Gameplay Trailer reveal yesterday, there were high expectations for today's Courtside Report about gameplay.

However, an addition that wasn't expected has now been announced: NBA 2K22 is getting an all-new Dunk Style Creator!

Not only do we know that dunks will now be fully customizable, but they also stated the feature "allows you to have detailed control over the exact style of your dunk packages."

To make things even better, you will apparently be able to "equip more dunks on your player than ever before."

Dunking also gets new gameplay features and changes this year

While we're definitely looking forward to making that epic dunk animation of our dreams, there will be tweaks to all dunks in the game this year.

In the past, dunks were basically unstoppable once the animation was going, and NBA 2K22 is getting a revamped blocking system with more tools for defense to make a stop at the rim.

On next gen, there will be new timing meters for both alley-oop and aggressive skill dunk attempts.

As they explained in the Courtside Report, "holding Sprint and pulling straight down on the Pro Stick will trigger the aggressive skill dunks. When you have a defender standing underneath the rim, using the aggressive skill dunk feature will let you basically force a dunk attempt on-demand as long as you have a strong dunker and you have a bit of a runway. It’s tough to hit the perfect timing for these high-risk, high-reward plays, but it’s so gratifying when you can pull it off."

That won't be the only change, as they've added dunk celebrations which will apparently "work very similarly to the green release jump shot landing celebrations."

This will add some style and flair to your most amazing dunk moments, and it's definitely going to feel amazing when you land an epic custom dunk and follow it with a memorable celebration.
