NBA 2K20: Best teams to rebuild and lead to glory (MyLeague & MyGM)

Careful development of these teams can lead you into the promise land and winning titles.

The NBA season is slowly approaching us, but as a tradition, we have the latest iteration of 2K to keep us occupied before tip

2K Sports has always done an amazing job at recreating the fastest growing sport each year. They are tasked with the challenging mission of inventing a whole new game before the next NBA season tips off. Although this year’s iteration has received more criticism than usual, that isn’t stopping players from grinding away at the game.

Perhaps the second most played mode; MyLeague has been getting the most appreciation this year. 2K Games have not made any game-breaking changes to this mode which has resonated with fans well.

Everyone wants to win an NBA title eventually and there are some teams that have set themselves apart from the rest and are in an amazing position to win a title one day.

Which teams can you rebuild and become a hero with?

Atlanta Hawks

Cap Space: $5,331,409

Notable Players: Trae Young (85 OVR), John Collins (84 OVR), De’Andre Hunter (77 OVR) and, Kevin Huerter (76 OVR)

Expiring Contracts: Chandler Parsons, Alex Len, Evan Turner, Allen Crabbe, Damian Jones and, Vince Carter

The Hawks have seen a drastic change in recent years.

Once they were atop the Eastern Conference but since have gone under a massive rebuild as they were unable to sign the five All-Stars they once bolstered.

Now, the city of Atlanta finally has a team they can get behind, which is led by former College sensation Trae Young who made a late push in last season’s Rookie of the Year race. His ability to take over games with his unlimited range and his floor generalship are all things Atlanta should be excited about.

John Collins the power forward out of Wake Forest has also been a surprise to many NBA fans, the athletic freak of nature forward can explode out of the pick and roll at any moment and is surely one to look out for.

Besides the obvious two players, the Hawks also have lockdown shooters in Kevin Huerter and this year’s number four overall pick in the NBA Draft; De’Andre Hunter. The latter was one of the most well know and respectable players at the college level and will look to add to this young roster.

New Orleans Pelicans

Cap Space: $-8,501,046

Notable Players: Jrue Holiday (86 OVR), Zion Williamson  (81 OVR), Brandon Ingram (80 OVR) and, Lonzo Ball (79 OVR)

Expiring Contracts: Derrick Favors, J.J. Reddick, E’Twaun Moore, Brandon Ingram, Jahlil Okafor and, Frank Jackson

The city of New Orleans has perhaps the worst luck when it comes to having a solid NBA team. Before this new look Pelicans roster they fielded Anthony Davis who is not only the NBA 2K20 cover star but he is one of the best players in the league.

Unable to really capitalize throughout the years with Davis, they traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers in return for the majority of their young core which features the likes of Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart. All have shown flashes of brilliance throughout their short NBA careers thus far, but all have had some unfortunate luck with injuries as well.

Along with this young Lakers core now on the roster, they also lucked into the number one overall picked and landed perhaps the best generational talent we have seen since LeBron James. His name is Zion Williamson, the freak of nature player from Duke will look to dominate this upcoming NBA season and expectations are sky high not only for him but this bright Pelicans roster.

Sacramento Kings

Cap Space: $-4,886,911

Notable Players: De’Aaron Fox (86 OVR), Buddy Hield (84 OVR), Marvin Bagley III (83 OVR) and, Harrison Barnes (79 OVR)

Expiring Contracts: Bogdan Bogdanović, Buddy Hield and, Harry Giles

The NBA has so many young and exciting teams right now, but the Kings stand out amongst the rest just due to the one-two punch they have.

The Kings, much like the Pelicans, were once the laughing stock of the NBA, they seemed doomed to consistently land in the top five draft picks each year. But they hit the jackpot as of late, drafting both Kentucky point guard De’Aaron Fox and Duke big man Marvin Bagley III they pair have become dominant for the Kings in recent years

Fox is seen as one of the most dynamic point guards in the league, he is also one of the fastest players in the league with a 96-speed rating. Barley missing out on the playoffs this past season, the Kings will look to rebound this upcoming season and with the young core, they possess having another year to develop, this may be the year.
