Hitman 3 is one of the first big releases of 2021, and it's fantastic news for PS5 players.

Latest - Pre-Load

Players on PlayStation or Xbox platforms will be able to pre-load the game, ready to start playing as soon as it hits unlock time.

PC Players won't be able to pre-load, and instead will have to begin downloading the game once it unlocks at 8am EST/1pm GMT.

Release date

Hitman 3 is set to release on Wednesday, 20 January on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia.

The game was announced in June this year during the PlayStation 5 reveal event and is being independently developed by IO Interactive.

You can pre-order Hitman 3 from Amazon on PS5 for £54.99 / $59.99.

Day 1 Patch

IO interactive have confirmed that Hitman 3 will be getting day 1 patch, which will add many pieces of content to the game, including the levels that aren't included in the base game installation.

"HITMAN 3 will require a day one patch for all disc users. The day one patch will be automatically applied to digital players. This patch will include access to the VR mode for PlayStation users and will include the remaining locations that are not included on the disc."

Purchasing the game on PS4 will give you a free upgrade to PS5.

Deluxe Edition

Players can also purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game, which contains the following:

  • A copy of the game
  • Deluxe Escalation Contracts
  • Deluxe items and garments
  • The digital book "World of HITMAN"
  • The digital soundtrack
  • Director's comments

This special edition costs £74.99 / $79.99.

PS4 comparison

The game is presumed to make the most of the extra resources of Sony's next-generation console to give users a better experience.

The PS5 supports ray tracing, better resolution in both the output image and textures and a higher level of frames per second, so that's what we could expect for this title.

All the marketing material that has come out so far are images or videos of the game running on the new console, so expect it to be the best platform t to play on.
