Toronto Blue Jays: Contenders or pretenders?

Following back-to-back seasons of reaching the ALCS, the Toronto Blue Jays' 2017 season was a major disappointment. After a horrendous 1-9 start, the Blue Jays failed to reach the .500 mark all season and finished fourth in the AL East with a 76-86 record. The team was also plagued with injuries all season long, with Josh Donaldson, Troy Tulowitzki, Aaron Sanchez, Russell Martin, and Steve Pearce all spending a significant amount of time on the disabled list.

The Blue Jays also revamped their outfield by adding Randal Grichuk and Curtis Granderson, and also their middle infield with Yangervis Solarte and Aledmys Diaz. That said, how can Toronto bounce back and make the postseason in a division that looks to have gotten much better?
