It's amazing to think that the baseball season is more than a month old, and over 10 percent complete. The weather has only just become suitable for baseball, and there are still players, like Alex Cobb and Lance Lynn, who look to be in Spring Training form after signing late in camp due to this year's glacial market.
The month of April (and a week or so of March) has given us some exciting baseball and interesting stories. Most of the teams that were expected to do well, like the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox, have done very well. Others that were expected to succeed, like the New York Yankees and Washington Nationals, scuffled to start the season. Young teams like the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves have shown signs they might be coming into their own slightly early.
And boy, have we seen some incredible individual performances. The fans have been given a lot to talk about by their boys of summer. But who has been the best? Today, we'll be looking at the five best hitting performances turned in since the season began.
