DraftKings Daily Fantasy MLB Advice: Lineup advice for September 13, 2017

Yesterday it was almost impossible to pick your pitchers. Today is easier, but not by much. With the presumptive National League Cy Young winner going, along with a good selection of #2 starters there are more strong options than you can hope to start.

Best DFS MLB Pitchers for September 13, 2017

After last nights feast of pitching, we have a nice scattering of arms tonight. Max Scherzer ($13,400) is the star of this evening, but going with him will require saving elsewhere. If you aren’t so keen to spend big though, who should you be looking to start?

Ervin Santana vs San Diego Padres: $10,900 DraftKings, FPPG - 18.2

Santana is coming off two rocky outings against the Kansas City Royals who have had his number all year. However, facing the Padres is the tonic any pitcher needs.

He last faced them on August 2 and had a complete game victory with nine strikeouts and just two earned runs against. That’s the kind of history we like.

Chris Archer vs New York Yankees: $10,400 DraftKings, FPPG - 20.1

Archer’s last two starts were a disaster. Against the White Sox and the Red Sox on the road he went just three innings, allowing a massive eight earned runs and three homers.

So why play him tonight? Well, Archer has been a much better pitcher at home than he has been on the road. He has an ERA 1.38 lower at home than on the road, and is nearly 2 K/9 better at the Trop.

Dan Straily @ Philadelphia Phillies: $8,600 DraftKings, FPPG - 14.7

Straily is as cheap as I would go tonight. His last two starts, including one against the Phillies, have not been great, but for the most part this season Straily has been a useful pitcher, with an 8.1 K/9 and a reasonable walk rate he should be viable tonight.

Best DFS MLB Hitters for September 13, 2017

With our pitchers settled let’s look at the hitters. You can always splash out on Mike Trout ($5,600) or Giancarlo Stanton ($5,600), but there’s only so many stars you can fit into our lineup. Who should you look at further down the price list?

Tommy Pham vs Cincinnati Reds: $4,400 DraftKings, FPPG - 9.3

I recommended Pham last night and he came up big with a triple, a walk, two RBI, and four runs scored. Pham is a machine who can do it all at the plate, and as long as he is this cheap I’m putting him in.

Eric Hosmer vs Chicago White Sox: $4,200 DraftKings, FPPG - 8.7

Hosmer picked up a double, a walk, and a run last night, taking his September slash line to .450/.532/.700. In this form, at this price, Hosmer should be in all your lineups.

Corey Seager @ San Francisco Giants: $3,900 DraftKings, FPPG - 8.3

Seager missed a few games with an elbow issue, but is back in the lineup and seems to be all good. At this price keep an eye on him getting a night off, but if he’s active you should put the 31 HR shortstop in your lineup.
