Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Lineup advice for July 10, 2018 (7:05pm ET turbo contest)

Tuesday has a full slate of games, and as such two DraftKings contests that are of interest. There is the full 15-game one, but also an eight-game "turbo" contest consisting of just those games that start between 7:05pm ET and 7:35pm ET. Which players should you be picking from the first batch to be in your turbo contest lineup?

Trevor Bauer Vs. Cincinnati Reds ($13,600)

Bauer is the clear ace tonight. He is averaging 30.4 points per game in his last 10, with 22.8 being his lowest single score in that time. In short, he is in electric form and cannot be ignored at any price. His last game was an eight strikeout, 7.2 inning win against the Royals at the exact same price. He was worth it then, he is worth it today.

Julio Teheran Vs. Toronto Blue Jays ($7,400)

Behind Bauer there is not a lot of impressive options in this contest. One of my favorites though is Julio Teheran. The Braves righty has put together a few strong games of late, but mixed in with that are some real duds. All of which means Teheran is not without risk, but the same can be said of any pitcher in this price range. The Blue Jays sit 17th in runs scored and 15th in strikeouts this season, which is a combination that could result in a strong points haul for Teheran. He picked up 10 K's last time out against the Yankees, and while they hit five runs off him it still kept his total at a reasonable 15.9.

Marcus Stroman @ Atlanta Braves ($6,900)

Opposing Teheran is the Blue Jays Marcus Stroman. The righty has returned to the mound after a stint on the DL with shoulder fatigue and he is still finding his way at the moment. In his three starts since coming off the DL he has scored 17.1, 23.4, and -3.5 points. Two good games and one disaster. Annoyingly, the disaster came against the Mets so you can't even blame it on a tough opponent. So why play him? Well Stroman has great pedigree and is remarkably cheap for someone with his skill set. The Braves are not a push over, but the talent is there to compete with them and turn this price into a profitable play.

Giancarlo Stanton @ Baltimore Orioles ($5,000)

I recommended Stanton yesterday and was rewarded with a single, a double, and a run scored for 10 points. Not great, but very useful. The same theory holds today though. The powerful righty sees Andrew Cashner on the mound today, a man with a 1.56 WHIP that has allowed 15 homers this season. Stanton has a great chance of mashing a bomb tonight.

Steve Pearce Vs. Texas Rangers ($4,000)

The Red Sox lineup has been hot of late, and that extends to role players like Steve Pearce. The stand-in first baseman and outfielder has seven hits in his last three games and is enjoying a purple period with his new club at the moment. He hit his fifth homer of the year last night and is getting a solid run at first base. Check the lineups when they are announced, but if Pearce is playing there's no reason to not have him in your lineup today.

Hernan Perez @ Miami Marlins ($3,400)

The Brewers second baseman & outfielder has two homers in his last four games. That has given him a pair of 20-plus games, which at this price tag is awfully good. It may not continue, but he is worth a play due to his current form, and if it continues he could boost your lineup into the money on his own.
