What is a simulation map in Splitgate?

Splitgate has made tonnes of updates since its launch into early access just over two years ago.

Now that we're in season 0, the team has been promising some pretty wild changes to the game.

Splitgate's weekly and monthly challenges have been pretty great at bringing players back but the best way of doing so is with new modes. Here's how to access simulation maps.

Latest - New Update

The latest update changes around some of the modes but you should still be able to find simulation maps pretty easily. Just go into play, then quickplay to find it.

These should likely change over the coming months again.

What are Simulation Maps in Splitgate?

Simulation maps are smaller maps designed with tonnes of surfaces for portals. They are often a little confusing on the first try and have tonnes of areas for your enemies to come from.

These are designed for much smaller modes, having 6 players max at any time. This is done intentionally as they would be far too hectic otherwise. Having just three players a side allows for hectic battles that don't get too fast. It's a good way of balances battles with smaller teams in mind.

How to Access Them

Accessing them is easy, you just have to pick the right mode. The first way of doing so is by going into showdown/takedown servers. To do this, go to play and select matchmaking. Go on the casual tab and go into the casual side of those modes. At the bottom of the screen, you should see Showdown and Takedown. Just click on those and find a game.

Alternatively, you can access them via custom matches. Just go into the custom match tab and look for those maps. Be warned, you don't know what type of mode the host will be setting up in here. As well as this, kills won't count towards your challenges.
