It's finally here! The most expansive update for Crystal Dynamics' Marvel's Avengers yet is here and the War For Wakanda expansion is on the way. We know that the Black Panther is being added as a playable Hero alongside appearances from Okoye and Shuri, but there's a lot more to this update than meets the eye. Here's everything you need to know about the specific time the War For Wakanda update is going to release...

UPDATE - It's time to fight for Wakanda!

The War For Wakanda update is out now and we have everything you need to know about how much space you're going to need available for it. The update is the following sizes:

  • 31.8GB on Xbox Series X
  • 17GB on PlayStation 5
  • 32GB on PC

We don't know how big it is on current-gen consoles just yet, but we can imagine it's smaller rather than larger.

At the moment, the in-game Marketplace is offering the Damisa-Sarki Black Panther Hero Outfit for free, too.

The War For Wakanda expansion marks a turning point for Marvel's Avengers, with new story content and outfits alongside UI changes and continual stability improvements.

When does War For Wakanda come out?

At the moment, Crystal Dynamics hasn't shared the specific release time for the War For Wakanda expansion. Thankfully, though, we can make an educated guess based on previous content drops.

We're expecting the War For Wakanda expansion to release at the following times:

  • 08:00 - PST
  • 11:00 - EST
  • 16:00 - BST

This means you should be able to download the update from this time and jump into the new campaign as soon as your download is finished. We don't know how much storage space it's going to take up yet, but with this much content, you have to expect it'll be a lot.

What are we expecting from this free DLC?

The War For Wakanda expansion is going to add a lot of content to Marvel's Avengers and is widely believed to be the biggest post-launch content drop yet. This means we're expecting more than what we got from both Future Imperfect and Taking Aim - both of which were fairly substantial updates.

The War For Wakanda expansion is adding the following content:

  • New Playable Character - Black Panther
  • New Biome Area - Wakanda
  • New Outpost Hub Area - Wakanda
  • New Villains - Ulysses Klaw, Crossbones
  • New Hero Outfits - For Black Panther, Captain America, and More
  • New Story Missions - War For Wakanda Campaign

In addition to all this, there's going to be a series of new War Zones, Assignments, and Threat Sectors to tackle within the Wakanda Biome Area and beyond. Following the next-gen update for Marvel's Avengers, could this finally be the start of the game's resurgence after its troublesome launch?
