The Tales series is a franchise of Role Playing Games that has been around for more than 25 years from Bandai Namco.
Very popular in Japan, they found their way in the Western Market in the last decade. It's the third most popular JRPG in the English market, just behind Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
Tales of Arise is the newest chapter of the saga, originally expected for 2020 and is finally seeing light later this year.
But before then, we'll soon have a Tales of Arise demo!
Tales or Arise Demo
Tales of Arise is releasing a playable demo version on August 18th for Xbox and PlayStation. The complete game will be launched on September 10th, 2021 on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and PC.
Note that progress made in the demo will not carry over into the full version of the game.
Pre Order the game now
Tales of Arise is now available for preorders. Players that purchase the game in advance will receive: Alphen and Shionne Costumes, Wing themed outfit accessories, Cooking Recipes and Food items.
There are 4 different versions available:
- Standard for 59.99 USD
- Deluxe Edition 84.99 USD
- Ultimate Edition 109.99 USD
- Collector Edition (only available on waiting list in Bandai Namco Store). It will cost 189.99 USD and includes two action figures, hardcover artwork booklet and the game's soundtrack.
For those purchasing the PS4 and Xbox One versions, they will get a free upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S version of the game via dual entitlement.
Arise will carry the legacy of the previous games, while also introducing next generation advanced graphics, with evolved combat system pushing the series into the future.
Despite the gameplay showing wide open scenarios, Tales of Arise is not an open world game. The intention as other games in the Tales of saga is to have a linear progression; while it seems an old fashioned decision, it works for a narrative-focused game.
