One of the biggest hits of the last few years has been Respawn's Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. It wasn't perfect, but it told a great original Star Wars story. A sequel was inevitable and now we have our first piece of official information on the game. Below is everything we know about the Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2 release date and what to expect from the game.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2 Reveal
On January 25, EA and Respawn revealed that three new Star Wars games are in the works right now, one of which is a Jedi Fallen Order sequel.
You can read all about the three games here, but we have the information you need on the sequel in question.
First of all, the game is unlikely to be called Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2. It'll likely be Star Wars Jedi, followed by anoher subtitle. In the statement, EA wrote: "Game Director Stig Asmussen and his team at the studio are already working on the next game in the action adventure Star Wars Jedi series, and are joined by two new teams working to deliver additional unique Star Wars gameplay experiences across multiple genres."
“We are excited to continue working with the superbly talented developers at Respawn. They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Wars stories along with best-in-class gameplay across different genres and we are looking forward to bringing more amazing experiences to the galaxy far, far away.” said Douglas Reilly, VP, Lucasfilm Games.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2 Release Date
As for the release date of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order 2, it's still somewhat of a guessing game, since it's not been officially revealed.
Since rumours have flying around about the sequel for a while now, it's unlikely to be far away, possibly coming towards the end of 2022.
That idea has been backed up by Jason Schreier, who tweeted "The Jedi Fallen Order sequel has been in production for a while and should be out this year or next," following the announcement.
He went on to add: "Oh and these games are in ADDITION to Apex Legends and the other early Respawn project whose creative director, Mohammad Alavi, just left. No I do not know how one studio is possibly doing all of this."
Therefore, while we might see Jedi Fallen Order 2 as soon as this Fall, it won't affect work on their other tentpole releases.
As soon as we hear more about the game's release date, we'll update you right here.
