Punch-Out! was an absolute hit in the '80s and is still just as popular with the cult crowd today. One reason for this was the inclusion of Mike Tyson as the final boss.
This really helped fans connect with the game, and strive to defeat the formidable opponent to beat the game. Many players never managed to beat the 'Baddest Man on the Planet'.
Now, however, it seems that a new game may be on the way. Let's jump in and take a look now!
Latest - Rumours swirl ahead of Nintendo Direct
With a Nintendo Direct due on Wednesday, 9 February, the rumour mill has once again started up with belief that a new Punch-Out! game is on the way. Funnily enough, this article is one of those believed to be used as proof but the events in question happened over one year ago.
In fact, all of the sources used in the Reddit post are very old but that doesn't mean a new game isn't on the way. Nintendo might have been waiting for the right time to come forward with the new game and the next Nintendo Direct might be that time!
Logan Paul 'Impaulsive' Podcast
This rumour, supposedly confirmed considering Tyson's wording, was first seen on Impaulsive.

This podcast, hosted by Logan Paul, has featured some huge names in the past, and Mike Tyson can now be added to that list.
When on the podcast, Tyson said that "we're gonna make another one". This was in reference to the original Punch-Out! game.
Punch-Out!
The original game on the NES was incredibly popular thanks to the likeness of Mike Tyson in the game. Outside of the game, it also had his endorsement across the world.

Tyson was a huge name in sports at the time, and it's easy to see how this helped boost the game's popularity.
Next Level Games continued to develop Punch-Out! titles, including this one for the Nintendo Wii. However, none since have included Mike Tyson.
Punch-Out! on Switch?
It is very possible that this new game would be released for the most recent iteration of Nintendo consoles. That means it could be on Nintendo Switch!

With Mike Tyson already saying that a new one is on the way, we can't see why he wouldn't be in the next title.
So, with Mr. Dream out of the picture, get your gloves back on and get ready for another bout with Mr Tyson soon!
