With new consoles on the way in 2020, a somewhat 'dark age' of gaming is drawing to close after seven years of PS4 and Xbox One.
There is time for one last hurrah, however.
It's time for the community to leave their mark on the gaming sphere, with Sony giving them that platform with their upcoming release - Dreams.
What is Dreams?
Although one title, Dreams will have a whole host of community-created games on it.
The official Dreams site says:
"Dreams is an extraordinary, ever-expanding game universe from the award-winning Media Molecule, creators of LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway, where you can discover community-made games from around the world…and learn to make your own.
"The latest evolution of the studio’s Play, Create, Share maxim, Dreams gives you the opportunity to unleash your creativity. Bring your ideas to life with innovative, easy-to-use tools, then share them with a global community.
Whether you want to create games, music, paintings, animation, sculpture, movies or anything in-between, Dreams is an extraordinary digital playground where anything is possible."
Dreams will arrive on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2020 - exclusive to PS4.
What games will be on Dreams?
The feature-length game confirmed for Dreams is titled Art's Dream.
We don't have any other names for the various games but check out the trailer - to get a sneak peek of what else to expect in February.
Dreams will also serve as a platform for the community to create and collaborate on your own games - so expect the PS4 to leave a legacy after the PS5 is released in Holiday 2020.
How much will Dreams cost?
The price for Dreams has already been confirmed, and you can pre-order the Media Molecule title for £34.99 from the PlayStation Store.
Pre-ordering the game will also get you a Dreams PS4 theme.
