PS Plus is a subscription service for the PlayStation, giving players access to online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, and free games each month.
Each month Sony gives away at least 2 free games, sometimes more.
The latest additions to the lineup include Worms Rumble, Just Cause 4 and Rocket Arena.
What Is PS Plus?
PlayStation Plus is an online subscription service that is required to play online multiplayer on PS4 and PS5.
However, this doesn't apply for free-to-play games, such as Fortnite, which is playable without an PS Plus membership.
By subscribing to PS Plus players also get exclusive discounts on games and extra content, as well as free games each month.
There are usually 2 games given away each month, but sometimes more.
December's free games are Worms Rumble, Rocket Arena, and Just Cause 4.
In addition to those 3, Bugsnax on PS5 is also available until January 4th.
So in December players will be able to download and keep 4 games as part of their membership.
Do You Keep The Games Forever?
Games that are claimed as part of PS Plus are yours to keep forever.
However, if you cancel your PS Plus membership then you lose access to them until you resubscribe.
So they are essentially locked behind a paywall, but most people subscribe continuously to the service so they're never taken away.

How Much Does PS Plus Cost?
PS Plus is available in various lengths.
1 month of PS Plus costs $9.99/£6.99, 3 months costs $24.99/£19.99, and 12 months is $44.99/£37.49.
So it does work out cheaper to purchase it 12 months at a time, which ends up being $3.74/£3.12 per month.

Value Of Free Games
In total members have received $789.72 in free games throughout 2020, all for their $44.99 subscription, that works out at incredible value for money.
Even if you don't like every game that is given away, there will surely be more than enough to justify the subscription cost.
And it is a great way to find your next favourite game, or revisit an old favourite.
Free PS5 Games
With the release of the PlayStation 5 earlier this month, it will be very likely that Sony will start adding PS5 games to the list very soon.
From November 12th-January 4th players can claim Bugsnax for free, the first PS5 game to be given away for PS5.
This promotion is lasting for 2 months, likely to allow players who get the console as a present to still claim the game.
It is likely after January there will be another game added in the near future.
Since a new console never has many games at launch, it might be a while before we see monthly games given away, especially with so many still releasing for PS4 and being playable via backwards compatibility.

But even one free game every 2 months for PS5, in addition to PS4 games, makes PS Plus incredible value for money through 2021.
PS Plus Collection
To add even more value for PS5 users, Sony have added the PS Plus Collection.
The PS Plus Collection is a collection of first and third party PS4 games that are available for free at any time for PS Plus subscribers.
Think of it as the PS5 version of Game Pass.
It is unclear whether more games will be added in the future, but it is likely games will be cycled in and out over time.
At present the included games are;

- Ratchet and Clank

These are in addition to the free games given away each month. So right now PS5 users who subscribe right now can claim Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Hollow Knight until November 30th.
