Project 007: IO Interactive Post New Job Listings


Project 007 was revealed in November 2020, a brand new James Bond game, the first since 2012s 007 Legends.

The game will be developed by IO Interactive, the developers behind the Hitman series.

This should give players an idea on what to expect when it comes to style and gameplay potential.

New Job Listings Posted

IO Interactive recently posted 14 new job listings related to Project 007.

SHAKING NOT STIRRED: The first James Bond game since 2012 was announced last November.

With job roles ranging from Gameplay Animator to Senior Games Designer.

The full list of job roles are:

  • Senior Games Designer
  • Producer
  • AI Programmer
  • Lighting Artist
  • Gameplay Director
  • Gameplay Animator
  • Lead Cinematic Animator
  • Lead Sound Designer
  • Lead Game Designer
  • Senior Character Artist
  • Senior Gameplay Programmer
  • Senior Concept Artist

It seems that IO Interactive are looking for a broad range of key figures to develop this next title.

Development studios hire new employees throughout a games development cycle, but these listing seems like they're for the core team that will shape the game over the coming years.

This also indicates that the game is likely in very early stages of development, meaning we won't be seeing it any time.

Although it is purely speculation at this, it is unlikely that we will see the game until around 2023 or even 2024, maybe late 2022 at the earliest, depending how quick the development is.

Untitled Project

On the Careers page for IO Interactive, there are also a number of listings to work on a "Unannounced Project".

Being unannounced there is no clue as to what that project may be.

Based on the listings we can see that the game will be available on console, it states PS4 and Xbox One, but it will likely release on the PS5 and Xbox Series X instead.

NEW IP: The last non-Hitman game IO released was 2010's Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days

And that the game will have multiplayer as a key component to the game.

With Hitman 3 launching later this month, it seems unlikely that the project will be related to Hitman, although not out of the question.

With this new project and Project 007, it seems that IO Interactive are spreading its wings and creating some new IPs.

The last game that IO Interactive developed outside of the Hitman series was 2010s Kayne & Lynch 2: Dog Days.

Hitman 3

Hitman 3 is due to launch later this month and will conclude the World of Assassination trilogy, which began with 2016s Hitman.

47: Agent 47 is back in Hitman 3 which launches later this month.

The game will be launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia, PC via Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch via Cloud Gaming.

Hitman 3 will also have VR support for PS4/5 and PC.
