It's finally happening, Trainers!

Niantic and The Pokemon Company are both celebrating anniversaries this year and now we know how they're going to do it!

Professor Willow is getting a Pokemon TCG card as a part of a celebratory collaboration with Pokemon Go and here's everything we know.

Anniversary Year

It's a big year for Pokemon, to be fair.

Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green are both twenty-five years old and Pokemon Go is celebrating its 5th year.

COLLABS - What would you like to see from the collaboration?

This, of course, means that the Pokemon Trading Card game is also turning twenty-five this year.

So, in the words of the Pokemon Go Blog...

To celebrate, we are doing a collaboration between Pokémon GO and the Pokémon Trading Card Game!

Straight to the point, right?

How To Get The Card

The first part of the collaboration will be a Professor Willow card for Pokemon TCG.

Although the card itself isn't due until Summer 2021, there's going to be a few more reveals in the coming months.

Starting in late May 2021, we plan to announce the art and content of the Professor Willow card and details on how to get the card in each area. We will make announcements as further collaborations are determined, so we hope you will look forward to those!

Although we're not fully informed on how you will be able to get this card, it could appear as some sort of free promotional card when purchasing other Pokemon TCG packs.

GO & TCG - It's surprising there have not really been any collaborations before

Alternatively, if there are a few more collaboration cards there might be enough for Pokemon to package them together and sell them as their own pack!

Only time will tell, but keep an eye on the Pokemon Go Blog and the Pokemon TCG Website for the latest information about this collaboration.
